Port freight, on the record.
Tender, negotiate, track, and get paid, with every step sealed on a record both sides trust. Vetted members only. Serving the New York and New Jersey port complex.
What portrun is
One load. One record. Both sides.
portrun is a neutral platform for moving containers between ports and warehouses. A broker tenders a load, a vetted carrier accepts it, both sign one rate confirmation, the carrier dispatches a driver, the box is delivered, the invoice goes out and the payment is recorded.
Every one of those steps is appended to a single record that both companies can see and neither can quietly change. Any executed document can be checked by anyone who holds a copy, with no account.
portrun is not a broker and not a carrier. We take no fee on the freight bill and we are not a party to any deal. You run your business; we keep the record and build the tools.
Rate confirmations, dispatch, proof of delivery, invoices and payments have always lived in emails, texts and PDFs that either side could edit. They sit instead on one shared, sealed record, held by portrun, so the question "what did we agree to?" has one answer.
Who it is for
Every company that touches the box.
Post the load, negotiate in one thread, sign once, and keep every rate con, proof of delivery and invoice on the load where it happened.
See tenders from brokers who chose you, sign the rate confirmation, assign your driver and truck, and bill from the same record. A load received under your authority can never be re-brokered on portrun.
Follow the containers moving for you, with the same signed documents and the same trail the broker and the carrier see.
A driver's seat shows the run and the appointment. It asks for a name, a phone number and the last four digits of a licence, never the full number.
How it works
How a load moves on portrun.
A broker posts the load: rate, lane, container, appointment. It goes to a carrier the broker works with, and to nobody else.
Counter, agree, and both sides sign one rate confirmation. The PDF is fingerprinted and carries a verification ID.
The carrier assigns a driver and a truck. The driver sees the run in their own seat.
Check-calls along the way; the proof of delivery is uploaded and fingerprinted on the load.
The invoice is issued against the load; payments are recorded in a ledger both sides can read.
Anyone holding an executed document can check it on the public verify page. No account needed.
What we enforce
Enforced in the system, not promised in a policy.
Every line below is something portrun does today, with the evidence behind it. The Trust Center lists all of them, and the things we do not claim yet.
portrun is the record and the toolset, not a party to any freight deal. A load received under a carrier's authority is permanently barred from being re-brokered.Evidence · the provenance firewall, a control in the code
Each executed document carries a SHA-256 fingerprint and a verification ID. Anyone can check a copy on the public verify page and see whether it is the current, executed version.Evidence · the public verify page
Every action is an event in a hash-chained log. Nothing is edited in place. Changing a signed rate con withdraws both signatures and opens a new version in full view of both parties.Evidence · the event spine and the versioned document
Every carrier and broker you work with can be checked against FMCSA from its row, and the result stays there with its date.Evidence · the federal record chip on My Carriers and My Brokers
The last four digits of a licence or a TWIC card, never the full number. There is no column to hold one.Evidence · the driver record: cdl_last4, twic_last4
Where we are
Opening to vetted members now.
Our first members move containers through the New York and New Jersey terminals, and that is where the record is being proven load by load.
Nothing in portrun is built for one harbour. New ports open as members bring their lanes; the record, the documents and the vetting are the same everywhere.
Pricing
You pay for the tools, never for the freight.
portrun never takes a percentage of the freight bill — no booking fee, no margin, nothing on the load. That is the neutrality the record rests on, and it is enforced in the code rather than promised here. What you pay for is the software.

No third-party security certification yet (SOC 2, ISO 27001). Sensitive personal data — names, emails, phone numbers, message bodies, sealed records — is encrypted field by field at rest under keys portrun holds; uploaded file bytes rest under the storage provider's disk encryption, and a portrun-held key for them ships before any real driver data is accepted. We would rather say exactly this than imply more.
